SAN FRANCISCO — OpenAI rolled out AgentKit on Monday at its DevDay conference, a new toolkit designed to let developers and businesses create AI agents quickly without deep coding skills. The star feature is Agent Builder, a drag-and-drop interface that speeds up workflows from prototype to production.
AgentKit includes tools like a visual builder for no-code agent design, ChatKit for custom user interfaces, and Guardrails for safety checks. Users can export workflows as code for easy integration into apps. OpenAI says it cuts development time by up to 70% for enterprises.
The launch comes with 50 ready-to-try use cases, from simple automations to complex tasks. Examples include sorting emails with smart replies, managing personal calendars as a life assistant, and handling customer support queries. Other ideas cover sales lead generation, research summaries, and code reviews.
Templates kickstart projects in areas like sales, research, and support, so teams can tweak proven setups instead of starting from scratch. Early testers praised the developer experience, with one calling it “super easy to integrate.”
OpenAI also teased broader access, including API previews for Sora 2 video models and lower-cost options like gpt-image-1-mini. The company is testing ChatGPT-powered versions of Agent Builder for even simpler setups.
